Get info on a found item in the Spotlight menu

After using the Spotlight menu to locate an item, to get info on it, select it with the arrow keys then press Command-I.

Use Spotlight to search for exact phrases in documents

In the Finder, use Spotlight to search for an exact phrase within documents by putting the phrase in quotes when doing a Spotlight search.

Go to an item's location from the Spotlight menu

Hold down the Command key while clicking on a found item in the Spotlight menu to go directly to the item in the Finder, instead of opening it.

Specify Spotlight's default seach location

In Snow Leopard, set Spotlight's default search location (search this Mac, the current folder, or the previous search location) via Finder > Prefs > Advanced.
